Sending of print images

If you send us your print image as an electronic file :

Plesa note in general

J Every letter type, image and illustration which have been used should be supplied also.
J Letter types must be converted to “outlines” format. This allows us to read a letter type that we do not have in our system, and avoids false interpretation of the data by the software.
J A printable resolution should be used for images, at a minimum 300 dpi for the original size
J Corresponding colour proofs should be supplied to control the colours. So we can use them as standards for acceptable colours.

possible formats

Different formats are available for the saving of files. We differentiate between single point file formats and vector file formats:

Single point file formats

are files with the endings :

  • TIFF
  • BMP
  • PICT
  • PDF
  • EPS

Vector file formats

are files with the endings :

  • AI
  • DXF
  • PDF
  • EPS

Multi-colour images can be saved in single point file formats.

Vector file formats are the preferred format for saving lineal drawings.

If possible, always save the image file as a vector file, this is the preferred choice. If the line drawing is saved as a single point graphic format, then we would have to vectorize the graphic.
